Mystro ‘Mess I Ever Had’ (Flip Of Drake’s ‘Best…’)
Blowing up in-boxes yesterday, Mystro’s flip of Drake’s ‘Best I Ever Had’ into the cheeky ‘Mess I Ever Had’ has emerged as pretty much the week’s most essential track. Pulled from ‘The Standard’, a project mixed by Shortee Blitz to be available on Monday from here, you can check Mys-Diggy’s version by clicking here. Now keep reading for the man’s hard-hitting views on why leaving sour cream in the fridge for too long is a bad idea and the perils of leaving a pair of 300 quid jeans on the radiator…
When did you get the idea to re-do the Drake track? And were there any other themes or concepts that you considered?
“Probably about two weeks ago Shortee Blitz hit me up and asked if I could do something with it for hs mixtape, ‘The Standard’. I was already aware of the tune after seeing a bunch of chicks screaming out to the original on YouTube so I just messed around with different ideas like, “You’re the most stress I’ve ever had,” and “Best I’ve ever heard” (i.e. the deejay), but ‘Mess I Ever Had’ came quicker and made me laugh as well so I ran with that. Shortee gave me the beat on Thursday and I gave him the demo on Friday!”
On the track you rap, “You’ve been moving everything, now I think you better stop/I’m not finding anything…” When was the last time you lost your keys or wallet?
“You know what? I’ve only started using a wallet since last year February so don’t jinx me! Last time I lost my keys was probably the last time my girl tried re-arranging my flat – never found ‘em again.”
What’s the longest you’ve had an item of food in your fridge for?
“There’s some spinach that’s been in there since I moved in – I think I put it there but I just can’t remember when… Also, there’s the sour cream that’s been there three years ‘cos I don’t like it and she won’t eat it.”
You also talk a suit getting ruined by jam prints from sticky fingers. What’s the most expensive item of clothing you’ve ever had ruined by food or drink stains?
“The last thing I remember was a pair of Mochino jeans that I left on the radiator like a fool… The fact I paid 300 pounds for them was more foolish I think… My local launderette messed up an Ecko jacket I had years ago – it was expensive but I didn’t pay for it; still acted like I did though. You’ll hear more about them soon…”
In you experience, are women messier than men?
“Hell yeah! Especially when they don’t clean up after the man! Nah, truthfully though, guys can get away with it more than girls so obviously guys but I’ve seen some messy chicks in my time for real – will never see them again trust me!”
Who’s the messiest rapper or producer around?
“I couldn’t tell you ‘cos there’ so many, but it’ll be the one who’s never on time and always looking for their rhymes/beats instead of working on them…”
Finally, what else do you have coming up music-wise over the next six months or so?
“Look out for ‘Digmund Freud: The EP’ as well as ‘Tip Of The Mysberg Vol 3′. There’s the Black Einstein project coming soon but in the next six months keep an eye out for those or follow me on Twitter for more info – big up all my Natural Born Twittaz.”

lol funny!
This is really witty and entertaining. Reminds me of Sway when he was making great mixtapes (instead of rubbish ’serious’) tracks. This is what UK spitters should do more often – show their humour. Big up to Mystro, and can’t imagine I’ll be listening to Drake much.
I’d agree with that above. funny rhymes!!
