VIEWING GUIDELINES
Once downloaded, HHC Digital should open automatically in Adobe Acrobat Reader, which should be pre-installed on pretty much any computer bought since the 5 1/4" floppy disc BBC Micro days. If you don't have it, click here to get in the game.

HHC Digital is designed to be read comfortably on your computer screen - and looks swelligant if you hit the 'Full Screen' button in Acrobat - but you can also print it out to read on the train/bus/toilet. It'll also work on your iPhone or lesser-branded mobile communications device - and we'll have an optimised version coming soon.

We recommend using Firefox to download it (available here), though there shouldn't be any problems using your browser of choice.

K-Delight: Free Mixtape!

Having just dropped his dope free mixtape ‘Def Jam: A Live Turntable Session’ (available by clicking here), we caught up with K-Delight…

How would you describe the new mix in one sentence?
“A raw, live turntable session cut the hell up the good old fashioned way with a pile of dope tunes and a pair of 1210s.”

For someone with Attention Deficit Disorder, which part of the mix should they skip directly to?
“I would say the opening five minute sequence where I’m cutting up the three Little Brother tracks. It always seems to go down well when I play out and I think it builds into the rest of the mix just nice.”

The mix was done in one-take, but how much planning and preparation did you put into it?
“It’s a combination of a few sets I use to play out in the clubs, so it’s all my favourite little blends and cuts put together in one set. I would say it’s a good couple of days of planning the running order then after having an hour scratch warm-up session I just literally pressed play and record and off I went with it!”

Why did you decide to give it away for free? Do you miss the days of people actually buying mixtapes?
“Well, after the release of my ‘Audio Revolution’ album I thought why should I put a load of money into a project that a majority of the kids are just going to rip anyway? That’s what happened with the album, so I didn’t want to make the same mistake again with this project. Looking back I think I should have just done ‘Audio Revolution’ as a limited-edition vinyl album, but there you go…

“This project is carrying on from the live mixes I did with Evil Ed. I would love to have released it the same way with a dope fold-out graff sleeve etc, but I don’t think the time is right at the moment. People are ripping music like there’s no tommorrow so it just wouldn’t make sense as I know half of them would end up sat in the loft.

“Christ, I used to sell more cassette mixtapes from my garage than the CDs we do now! Times have changed, big time! I think we just need to be more clever with releases, we need to be more selective and do stuff that’s more of a collector’s piece than just release CD after CD. After all, times are hard and you can’t expect everyone to buy music like they used to.”

What are your top three all-time mixtapes?
“In no particular order as they are all classics: Q-Bert’s ‘Demolition Pumpkin Squeeze Musik (A Preskool Breakmix)’, Kid Capri’s ‘52 Beats’, DJ Kentaro’s ‘My Favourite Songs Vol 1′.”

What else are you working on in the near future?
“The next project is a special track I’ve been working on with Chrome from Def-Tex. It’s a tribute to one of the greatest hip-hop deejays of all time and is still going strong. I’m not saying the name but he’s the reason I got into deejaying in the first place. It’s an uptempo number with dope rhymes and cuts and scratches. It will be a limited edition 7-inch vinyl release – it’s dope! One for the heads for sure.”
